Is It Safe to Hire Ukrainian Software Development Companies?
Having Ukrainian roots and a lot of team members in Ukraine, we do our best and deliver projects to our customers without interruptions.

This question has been at the forefront of our clients’ minds from the first days of the Russian invasion. It was reflected in the dozens of emails sent to us. The concern is reasonable, given the circumstances. However, the IT sector in Ukraine remains as strong as ever. Our employees are relocated to safe areas, and all the processes are performed remotely. We take every precaution possible to keep our staff safe.
What Are You Getting out of Working with Ukrainian IT?
Growing IT Sector and Infrastructure
Despite ongoing conflict, Ukraine’s IT expertise continues to shine. In 2022, Ukrainian IT exports reached around $6.7 billion, and held steady at $6.45 billion in 2024. Ukraine’s IT sector is forecasted to grow to around $10 billion in 2025, despite the war-related challenges.
One of the Greatest Talent Competitiveness
Ukraine’s IT talent pool remains robust, with estimates ranging from 300,000 to 363,000 tech specialists — even amid forced migrations and disruption. Over 79,600 of these work at just the top 50 tech firms in the country.
Reflecting global engagement, Ukraine ranks 7th among all countries in the 2025 Stack Overflow Developer Survey.
Great Value-for-Money, Commitment, and Flexibility
Outsourcing is an effective way to reduce IT costs. Ukrainian development teams are highly committed to creating products that truly serve their clients. Most teams follow Agile practices, staying flexible and ready to adapt when project needs evolve.
High-Quality Education with Hands-on Experience
Many Ukrainian universities provide a strong technical background, with some being in the top 700 worldwide. Moreover, there are numerous high-quality courses available for those seeking to enhance their skills and qualifications. The IT community in Ukraine is robust, with multiple IT clusters. The majority of IT specialists are fluent in English.
Homeland to Many Tech Startups
Many internationally renowned startups have been developed in Ukraine by our talented citizens. These include Gitlab, Ajax Systems, Netpeak, Grammarly, RefaceAI, Delfast, MacPaw, People.AI, Preply, and many others.

Safety of Our Team Comes First
Back in 2014, after the annexation of Crimea, the risk of a large-scale invasion was looming. Therefore, we began devoting time, attention, and resources to mitigating it by organising high-quality professional training for our employees on how to behave in the event of an attack.
Moreover, COVID-19 pushed our Diversido team to transfer to a fully remote mode of work. All the mechanisms for remote collaboration were already in place when the invasion began, helping us stay resilient.
Our Kyiv office has been empty since 2022, while most of our team relocated to safer areas within days of the invasion. Today, every member of the Diversido team is mobile and working from all over the world.
How We Ensure Business Continuity
- Effective Team Communication – using international best practices, tools, and daily collaboration with clients.
- Project Data Security – all data is stored securely in cloud servers located outside Ukraine, Russia, or Belarus.
- Transactions Protection – we are a registered company in the US, UK, and France, ensuring that all financial transactions and project budgets are fully protected.
- Client Management – We consistently deliver results on schedule and communicate openly when risks arise.
Strong International and State Support
Ukraine’s government and global partners are doing everything possible to support people and businesses. International financial institutions continue to back Ukraine’s economy. In 2024, Ukraine’s service exports (including IT) grew 10.25%, outpacing the world average of ~4%.
Highly Motivated to Work for a Better Tomorrow
For all the reasons mentioned above, it is safe to outsource any software project to Ukrainian experts. We are motivated not only by business success but also by our role in supporting our economy and the Armed Forces.
We are eager to take on new projects and collaborate with our clients to build a better future for our country and the world.
When the war is over, we’ll be proud to welcome our partners for a cup of coffee in our Kyiv office.
